Uploaded into this blogsite's flash media player (right column), a more testicularly-powered up redo of Filterfunk's "S.O.S.". The silverbox above is a wet-dream for most electronic producers... the extinct Roland TB-303. I had one back in Hong Kong but sold it to a collector for a really disgusting amount of US$.

Happy Labour Day... whatever that means! Thinking of 杰丝.
Woke up in the afternoon and found various phone text messages... most of it was... "Solarstone last night. Didn't see you there. Why?"
Answer... same shit, different day... meaning...
But I certainly hope those that went found they fix. I can safely say, I don't find any desire or neccessity to club nowadays, especially since I started doing so since 1991. I need other forms of fixtures. More subtle, more laidback... more mellow.
It's Sunday again. Off day again before another week of work begins. Yes, Labour Day is not a holiday for everyone in the workforce. And I seriously am in need of a pick-me-up.
That empty feeling is back again... :(
I miss my sweet sun-bathing JT.
It's a little bit lonely for me It's a little bit faint Without you near - Markus Schulz

You know you're Singaporean when you've lost your sense of irony, sarcasm, and cynicism.
For the sake of final clarification, for those that are still not updated, the club that I work for (eM Studio) is a House club. Meaning, expect all genre of House ranging from Deep House to Vocal House to Disco House to House Classics to Electro House to current House Anthems. Yes, I know what YUKUN is known for but please do not come and expect that I'm "known for" when it's a House Music-themed night... which is every Friday and Saturday... unless stated otherwise. Call it "mambo jambo" music or whatever... we're catering to the masses that like it.
As the print on the POS material says... "epitome of house". "Epitome" meaning "a vast amount of". "House" meaning, all floor-friendly House genres. I know this posting comes across as very harsh or condescending but sometimes, people with tunnel vision need that in order to understand the what the real world is about.
I do appreciate all the past valued support from all the Trance-heads. But for now, I need to do what I need to do... please understand that... which is... to make a living and keeping the majority of the patrons that come to the club happy with their regular dosage of House Music. Don't slam it because you don't get it. Coz the others on the floor get it.
I'll play what I'm known for in due time for special occassions and etc. Till then... thanks for reading and for having the maturity to understand that I need to survive too. I'm not compromising. I'm merely adapting and being versatile to what the club management expects in terms of music delivery.
Simple theory. It also applies for those that have ask why I don't play Trance on my Lush 99.5 FM shows... when the station has a before/after-hours "bar sound" music policy.
Go check out what Stingray (ex-Liquid Room resident), known for his banging sound, is playing at Attica every weekend now. Don't be too shocked as well. He drops pretty nifty R&B tunes when the club requires for him to do so. But at the end of the day, he's payed pretty well to play what the club wants and not what he wants. Sometimes in life, money talks. Realism of life.
But for those that have the ability to keep an open-mind about club music and are capable of accepting beyond their personal preferences, please do drop by over the weekends.
Cheers!
p/s I'm no longer a purist and that's why I'm getting paid every month... very decently! As my mentor told me once, "if you want to be a music elitist DJ, you'll only get ad hoc gigs. But if you're versatile and adaptable, you'll make a stable income."
After months of searching, I found a suitable winner for the Singapore Idiot Championships. Hands down winner, I swear! Wait. Damn it. (******) a foreigner. Not Singaporean. Alamak!!!
But (******) by far the dumbest of the lot! I've never met anyone with not only the lack of common sense or any known human logic but is also the first known walking IGNORANUS! How cool is that?
Can we make an exception and let (******) win? Fuck the technicalities... pleeeeaasse! (******) really deserves it!
Unfortunately, I can't say who this class-act is. Not now at least.
I'm just so in love with this deep House tune from the respectable OM Records. It just resonates the very essence of what House music is about. Love, positivity and sensuality. This homemade video, incorporating scenes from "Great Expectations", does the tune justice. The lyrics, from a personal point of view, is downright inspiring. A new rise will come! I believe so.
SAMANTHA JAMES - "Rise" You should believe me And everything I choose to do You should believe that I'll Always come back to you
Life is discovering The love that we create Life is a mystery We need to embrace
In every way You need to let go You'll see all your dreams will follow In every way You need to let go
[Chorus] People rise together When they believe in tomorrow Change the day to forever This life keeps movin'
Open your mind and see We have everything we need Dream or reality Fulfill its destiny
In every way You need to let go You'll see all your dreams will follow In every way You need to let go
Lying in bed the past two days, nursing a high temperature, a bad throat and body aches. Very much left to one's own devices, I decided to indulge in my favourite label of all time. Blue Note. A shock to many but my first real music liking was never dance music. It was jazz. By jazz, I don't mean bastardized crap like Kenny G or Dave Koz. I mean real bluesy jazz, with it's rich glorifying history... and nothing quite describe the hair-raising magic of a dusty Thelonious Monk vinyl, crackling over a gramophone. Well, for me a least.
Hard to comprehend such music? Well, if you kind of dig modern day jazz / blues hybrids like Norah Jones... I don't thing it's that hard to appreciate music with roots. For those that are interest to know more... read this. Then again, jazz has always been an "individual thang".
As we know it, the bar and cafe culture is becoming a more preferred choice across many demographics today as compared to the tried-and-tested dizzy clubbing outings. I've been to several parts of the world and one of the best places I've been so far is the Blue Note Cafe in Taipei. Many such cafes have sprung up all over the whole paying homage to perhaps the greatest recording label in jazz. One thing, before I die, I'd like to visit the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York and catch the living legend Dizzy Gillespie. That would be my mecca... to smoke a cuban (cigar), sip Irish coffee and lose myself in the blues. Several of such bars failed to survive here... it's hard too when you have the general public having the grave perception that Michel Buble is jazz.
For those that are still stumped? Yukun likes jazz? Well, there's a whole lot more of music that I like that no one knows. It's just a question of not having a tunnel vision and opening up to the many wonderful genres out there.
Off to bed again and it's back to work on Friday. Hooray... :p
All of the above :( OK, maybe not confusion though
And for those that think they can get away with crime...
Ezekiel 25:17
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish, and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers, and you will know my name is The Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
CDJ Ben says I shouldn't be so harsh and blunt to others about my shift in music preference as a DJ coz apparently, it's affecting some people. Well, since he asked me nicely, ok Ben... for once I'm going take that into consideration. Actually, it's the anti-biotics that's making me agree...
In all fairness, I'm merely expanding my genre repetoire to be more versatile instead of being a one-track railway. I'm not giving up anything... just merely paying more attention to the "new" genres that I'm exploring at the moment.
Damn... I did it again didn't I? Sorry Ben... :p
On a seperate note... here's evidence that I do gatecrash where possible. This is the Smirnoff Green Apple Launch Party a few months back and I wasn't even on the invite list. :P
p/s I have a rough, deep and sexy voice now. Sore throat :(
Dunhill's 100th anniversary party at Asian Civilisation Museum went by in a haze. Can't remember the later part of it but casualties aside... it was a blast to see so many familiar faces from the F&B / nightlife industry. P@t was royally sloshed... so was Razaq, in a way... but it's all cool. We all need to unwind one point or the other.
On a sombre note... Eugene Chua, manager from Que Pasa was assaulted by 10 idiots on Sunday and ended up on a life support machine. I don't really know him personally but the act carried out is just senseless. It's just fucked-up. I hope that justice and karma catches up with the culprits. My deepest sympathy to Eugene's family and friends.
When will this world be a better place for one and all?

"I walk this empty street On the boulevard of broken dreams Where the city sleeps and I'm the only one and I walk alone..." - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Green Day
Bored!Bored!FUCKING BORED!!!!! My only off day a week and I'm bored out of my skull!!! Maybe I should go back Pasir Ris Pond to fish on Sundays again... Hmmppph! I don't have my rods and I hate handling "live" prawn bait.
Can't sleep. Lonely. Bored. Nothing to do. Back to YouTube to watch emo-songs... and maybe cry a little.
"The sky has lost it's colour..."
"I can't take the distance I can't take the miles I can't take the time Until the next time I see you smile I can't take the distance And I'm not ashamed That I can't take a breath without saying your name I can brave a hurricane And still be standing tall when all the dust has settled down But I can't take the distance" - The Distance by Evan & Jaron
Avril kept me company for the past hour or so with her new album. Hated the skater-rock-chick-with-attitude crap tunes. But one particular ballad stood out above everything else and it's been on the repeat mode... one more time, please!
"This innocence is brilliant, I hope that it will stay This moment is perfect, please don't go away, I need you now And I'll hold on to it, don't you let it pass you by" - Innonence by Avril Lavigne
It's not a single just yet thus there is no performance or video available for it... but sometimes, you can never deny a good tune. Especially when it's going to reach out to millions with it's lyrical content of hope. The intro piano-riff is just so Coldplay-ish! Here's a slideshow made by a fan...
The Washington Post's Mensa (go Google it if you don't know what that is) Invitational once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, and coming up with new definitions...
Here are TWO new words to use, especially at work (where applicable) :
Ignoranus A person who's both amazingly ignorant and an irritating asshole.
Glibido The gifted ability to talk a lot (of hot air) and no action.
Used in the context as such : (name of person) is such a fucking ignoranus! All he does everyday is glibido.
Haaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Hey, I'm not making any of the above up. Go look it up at the Mensa site. This post is purely coincidental. Any likeness in terms of description and blah blah blah... is really by chance only. Really. This has nothing to do with you taking my last cigarette without asking either.
It's one of those fucking days that nothing is ever going fucking right. A whole bunch of fucking shitty things seem to come in one huge fucking bunch. In fact, I keep having such fucked-up days on a regular basis. Makes me wonder if someone actually placed a fucking curse on me. So much for looking at the brighter side of things. Fuck!
Came back last night after work at 4.30am plus and so-called slept at 5am. I was mobilized back to my fucking army camp at 7am in the fucking morning. Like seriously... what the fuckity fuck for? Stuck there till way after lunch... came back to find the incompetent plumber fucking up the main water supply pipe... only to tell us that he does not have his fucking tools and won't be back till Monday morning. I've half the mind to fucking toss him out the fucking window. I don't fucking care if plumbers can't fly.
Then I thought of calling up my sister to see if I can crash over there for Sunday... fuck!!!! Fucking upgrading works going on and the only fucking toilet is the fucking portable one in the fucking void deck. Fuck fuck fuuuuuuccccck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this is Heaven's way of joking around... it ain't fucking funny one bit.
Now I'm off see if I can find a cheap roach hotel to stay for the fucking time being. At least the water maybe rusty... but there's fucking water! I need a fucking shower... and I need to fucking shit!
Mother-fucking retarded plumber!
TWO HOURS OF FUCKING SLEEP IS ALL I HAD LAST NIGHT!!!
"I'm sorry but I accidentally hit your main water supply pipe. I don't have the tools to repair the leakage now. I'll come back on Monday to repair. In the meantime, I've to turn off the supply," says the so-called plumper.
"So like why wait till Monday?" I asked, "can't you like go and take whatever tools you need now?"
"My tools, my partner took for another job. Sunday I off. Only Monday start work."
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD! IS IT FILLED WITH FUCKING MORONS AND MORE FUCKING MORONS? Hello!!!! So like what the fuck am I suppose to do with no water supply from now till Monday? Bath / shit / pee in the drain or something? WHAT THE FUCK!!!??! This is just so FUCKING WRONG!!!
Now, I'm in a really fucking bad mood!!!!!! Mr. Cabonara Sauce better don't be asking any fucking idiotic questions today!
You and those disguising their curiousity with "concerned". It's none of your concern to begin with. And yes, it's damn irritating although you may not know it. The next idiot that calls / phone text / msn / email / whatever mode available, about "I heard you changed your music direction" and "why you stop playing trance"... you're going to get nothing but silence.
If you don't have a sense of aural adventure and are too anal to come out of your tunnel-vision, please stay there and stop BUGGING me!!! I'm going to change my cellphone number by the end of the month and if you don't get an update from me, then congratulations, you're one of the many bugs that have been superbly irritating.
Thanks for the so-called "concern".
Goddamn plumber is here to do some drilling work on a SATURDAY! Fuck! They don't work on weekdays?
Splitting headache from the lack of sleep. Not in a very good mood. Fuckity FUCK!!! Once some outstanding issues are sorted out, I really need to relocate and find a less noisy neighbourhood soon... before I completely become insane and go on a shooting rampage.
Nobody better come ask me for some dumb song request later tonight. Already damn fucking irritated today! Sunday tomorrow... big fucking deal!
