From me to you...

I've been thrown so many questions about my private life until I'm really really tired of all the intrusions and answering so once and for all... mind your own business and...

Come March, it'll be close to a year since the fallout. No one is to blame. Just that some things are not meant to be, no matter how hard you might think otherwise. Time has certainly flew by and things are most certainly very much different now. Everyone's kind of moving on with their own lives. But a huge lesson I learnt which I hope to share with the rest of you.

Never ever take the one you love, or the one that loves you, for granted. Never fall into a complacent behaviour. Listen and observe instead of arguing your point across. You may think you're right but in a relationship, there is no right and wrong. There is only compromise. So for all you men out there, chuck your bloody ego into the freezer. All that alpha-male-mentality don't apply in this day and age. If you don't cherish what you have now, regretting later is totally pointless. What's lost is gone forever. Remember what The Cranberries once said...

Be truthful. Be sincere. No one likes hot air. Mean what you say, and keep to your words / promises. Sure, relationships are fragile as hell. Once broken, it'll never be the same again. The fault lines will surface eventually. No one said it was easy. A rose garden isn't that all perfect but if you're careful, chances are that you won't be pricks by the thorns.

Once you've been through what I have, you'll realise that so many people out there are making the same very mistakes over and over. And it's sad that they don't even bother to acknowledge it. Through the past year, I've witnessed several relationships and marriages that collapse... coz pride got in the way.

Remember, treasure you must. If you haven't done something nice for your loved one, it's about time to do something to reassure that "bond". And by that, I don't mean an expensive gift. That you've got to figure out for yourself.

But remember, if it's not destined, pull yourself up and move on. Fate may sometimes deal a cruel hand but there's always a reason for everything. You may not see it now... but you will in time to come.

Yoda has spoken. Live well, my friends. And don't let me be the one to say, "I f**king told you so!"

p/s That's as much as I wish to make public. I don't see the point of having my entire personal life published here. I don't see the need to in view of privacy and etc. So the next person that poses any personal question(s) again to me either via MSN, SMS, email or any other known forms of communication, I'll split your skull with an axe.

It's all gone wonky!

Day 2 of the new keep fit regime from 6pm to 10pm... military style! Wahahaha! Still flipping through the classified ads and sending out resumes. Anyone, anything? I'm quite excellent at doing almost nothing. A skill that I've honed for many years now. :p

What the?

It came from the horse's mouth...
Oh my f**king GAAAWWWWDD!
I'm laughing and crying at the same time!
Seriously, what the F**K?!!

Don't anyhow park your goddamn car, ok?

OEI! Auntie, you "chow cher pai"!

For the non-dialect speaking folks, that roughly translates to "Auntie you write car license plate" (i.e. giving a ticket for a parking offence). But like all languages, everything has dual or more meanings. Alternatively, the above can also be interpreted as, "Auntie, you smelly cunt!", which to me is the most appropriate intent of usage. But don't quote me on that. Use it sparingly and wisely.

How's that for education? ;p

Updates this week.

Quiet week ahead. Going to take time to work on some afterhours / ambient material, to do some physical conditioning (got to stay healthy) as well as to work on the Lush Mix for March and hopefully spend some quality time... :p

1.
Lush 99.5 FM Private Reserve with Yukun, this Wednesday 28th Feb with show 45 @ 8.00pm (GMT +8). Diving straight into the music that I've been really into for the past year or so... some boogaloo, downbeat and everything else in-between.

It was a nice Saturday night!

The $2 question of the night...

No sign of Stephanie Song but there was...

I know's it's a delicacy but...

Please do not touch...

No meal is complete without it!

And of course for the diet-concious...

From the sunny beaches of Sentosa...

And the banquet...

Here are some of the guests...

More pix to follow when I get them... have a good week ahead!

Tis Sunday morning...

Thank you Sam (seen here in photo with P@t) for the great food and hospitality last night. If you need a foxhole the next time you're at Cafe Del Mar, please look for him. Don't fall into the mortar pits that he and his Island Coastal Defence team have already dugged around the beach.

I think I've finally reached a point in life whereby I can't even be arsed to have any alcohol intake. It's no longer a joy and it's becomed quite a tedious chore. I guess my priorities have changed... and I think I can safely say, I hate waking up dehydrated.

By the way, once I get my finance situation sorted and secure something more substantial / concrete / regular, I'd very much like my own pad (AGAIN) and I most definitely must have a lava lamp and a mirror ball... ;p

I miss my privacy and space... and that comes with a hefty price tag; no thanks to the ridiculously rapid rising cost of living :(

On this fair Saturday...

Back from Day One of Remedial Training... feeling fresh!

Heading for a nice little gathering of friends, drinks, food, good company, laughter and bingo :p

Will be spending the next few months working on (hopefully) a full length album worth of ambient / chill / downtempo electronica. It seems to be more lucrative... and hopefully, some of those material will see the day of light in the August compilation by Lush FM. At the same time, it's one form of music style that will allow me to put my emotions into structure and a chance to work with live musicians instead of the usual non-organic EDM.

Have a great weekend, folks!

BarSounds... nice debut!

Had a really fun time DJing at One Rochester for the debut of BarSounds. Lush vibe, nice atmosphere, great hangout place. Also thanks to the people that came up to ask what we were playing. It's always nice to know that people are actually listening and are taking interest in venturing into "new" music. From Bossa to Nujazz, from downbeat to some rare grooves (courtesy of P@t)... :)

In the flash media player on this site is a re-edit I did for Ross Lara, an artiste I met on
myspace.com. It's a brillant emotional cover of Oceanlab's "Satellite"... which had a Eminem-ish rap over it. Done in memory of a close friend who passed over in an accident. The re-edit is a downtempo chillout without the rap. Enjoy. One for the-end-of-the-night!

Another piece of crap came in the mail.

Oh look, some poor sod sent me his promotional DJ mix CD. I promise to be constructive but it's hard to be polite when the tracklist reads as such...

Tiesto - Agadio For Strings
Tiesto - Traffic
Tiesto - Love Comes Again

I know your biography cites Tiesto as your inspiration but wouldn't it hurt for a bit of experiment and variety instead of putting in the obvious big tunes. It doesn't take a genius to DJ with nothing but anthems and tiring familiar "favourites". Seriously dude, it's not the very least impressive coz 80% of the tracklist, are known tunes. Why should I bother to even listen? Nothing interest me enough to put the CD on. Next time, put in things that will tickle some remote attention.

Word of advice? Trance does not start and end with Tiesto. Sorry, the truth hurts but...

... it's as interesting as the yearly Chingay and National Day Parade. Same old thing year in and year out.

A different side of us...

For those seeking the softer and lazier side of music and are dropping by One Rochester tonight (23rd Feb) to lounge and "chi-chi" the night away... seeya there!

*hip hip chin chin*

Sipping flower tea now! So calming...

Almost...

Had a very anxious experience today.
My heart went boom-boom at super fast rate!
It was actually quite thrilling... :p

The story so far!

This goes out for all the empty talk and the utterly useless idle chats that P@t and myself had to entertain thus far... and so the story goes...

Looking...

Time to stop dreaming...
... and bring the ship back to shore for good!

Fall At Your Feet

Don't know why but when this came on the radio earlier, it just hit me as I was lounging on the sofa. It never occurred to me what the song meant despite it being an "oldie", until now. Thank you Neil Finn, for such lovely sentiments!

"And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain..."

Pow-wow!

Decided to give Heroes a try despite my earlier doubts about it; and I would like to eat my words after watching the first episode. Pretty good.

Thank God there's HDTV... in America, that is. *wink*

To all the people that I know that are leaving or have already left the God-forsaken shitty island for "greener pastures"... all the best to ya! You'll breathe so much better with less suffocating regulations.

On this Monday night...

p/s new word I learn today... "sexy-licious" :)

Thank you... and updates!

Thanks to each and everyone of you that came despite the usual Chinese New Year shenigans to indulge in our own "festivities" last night. As always, it's a joy to meet and to chat with the new faces as well as the familiar "members". Thanks to the hosting venue and their staff; and the peeps that offered to get us smashed with the drinks... :p

It'll be a very long while more (months) before we decide on the next Progressions as we'll be busy looking and diverting to other business agendas and etc. We'll still be doing the odd-guest DJ slots when those come by. Till then, stay safe!

Also featured are two local productions. One of which is Yukun's "My Memories Of Yesterday" (shameless plug) and the other is the rather intriguing "The Life Of Frankie Wilde" by Leslie James Chua.

2. For those into bar culture and are looking for something more laidback, P@t and myself will debut BarSounds @ One Rochester, this Friday 23rd Feb from 10.00pm to 2.00am.

For those that haven't been there before... it's one of the most plush retreat in a heritage bungalow and it offers a great getaway for guests with their impressive lush landscaping. Prior to BarSounds from 8pm - 10pm, Heineken Music Club will be hosting their pre-Mosaic Festival celebrations. MICHAELA, Singapore's rising jazz vocalist who has already a sold-out concert at the recent Esplanade Late Night series, will be taking stage.

Gong Xi What-fucking-ever!

I know it's not "good fortune" to curse during this festive time but...
WHAT THE FUCK?!!!

Anyway, I hate Chinese New Year. Year Of The Pig... whatever. It can be the Year Of The Fairy Godmother for all I care! There's just too much too hate about it...

01. Nosy relatives intruding on your privacy.
02. Their demon kids from hell.
03. Neighbour having karaoke sessions at 8am.
04. The other neighbour blasting CNY songs.
05. Irritating lion dance on every hour.
06. Countless pointless CNY SMS greetings.
07. Poor TV programming.
08. Even more PESKY relatives calling to ask "what happened, ah?"
09. Shops are closed.
10. Nothing to eat. Don't expect me to eat CNY crap either.
11. Lastly, fucking pissed off with someone...

I need to fucking get away like NOW!!!

I hate...

Tell me something. What constitutes as being PUSHY? Concern and pushy are TWO different things altogether. If by asking how some certain outstanding issue(s) are progressing deems me as being pushy, fine then! I won't ask further. Happy?

*ZIP*

Now I need to fucking drink!

Blazing hell!

Managed to catch Ghostrider under quite a nice cosy circumstance. A pretty decent popcorn flick... afterall it's Nicholas Cage. My only beef is that they should have made the movie with a more darker undertone, considering the fact that Ghostrider is the Devil's bounty hunter.

Nonetheless, it was still a very good quiet Friday night. A nice change from the usual. :)

See ya'all at
Progressions this Sunday.

More freebie for you!

This was part of the Voodoo 4-track E.P. that was signed for a 6-month digital distribution to Muze Inc. in June 2006. And since almost everyone likes freebies, here is my little "red packet" to you this Lunar New Year. In full 320kpbs mp3 format.

Yukun feat. Ja:Son - Shiva

The above link will expire in 14 days and will be available for 500 number of downloads. And yes, it's full-on trance but don't ask me why no vocals. I'm not 1800-Information. :)

Altogether now... Huuuuaaat ah!
