Got me paycheck and I'm jumping with joy!

Just completed my first month of working a 9-5 FOUR-DAY WORK WEEK! And it rules because I'm paid more than my previous job and even lesser hours / days of work! Not to mention the generous winning cash tips from [blank]. I've got an own-time-own-target lunch break and as many tea/coffee breaks as I like.

WORK HARD? Sorry. Not applicable anymore. I don't subscribe to that sort of belief anymore. Use your brain and work helluva-smart! Tra-la-la! You can't beat having THREE days off in a work and yet have a decent income. Finally, perhaps this is what I've been looking for... :)

Oops... Ministry and Zouk DJs also have a FOUR-DAY work week... but much longer hours :p

Sluts In The City... wahahahaha

The question as of late that most of you have asked...

Can't tell. Sorry. Signed a disclaimer that forbids me to reveal anything more than vague with regards to what I do or where I am. Nothing illegal... technically. Just that I won't be paying any fucking Singapore taxes from hereforth even though it's been lucrative.

Lets just say I'm out of the boring island most of the time. The way I see it, since fucking foreigners are taking over everything possible job in Singapore, allow me to score one back for the nation by going elsewhere to take make a living. Do I get an award of merit for that? I think I do. Then again, like I really care!

Awards and medals don't pay bills.

It's things like these that make you go... WTF?

"Boo hoo hoo... pansy boy!"

By now, most of you (except for those living under a rock), would be familiar with the fiasco behind imported table-tennis peddler Gao Ning.

"It is a joke that Antony and Liu couldn't get a coach to guide me," lamented the Sportsman of the Year.

Hello... we Singaporeans got a saying... CAN MEANS CAN. Don't blame your failure on others. Blame yourself for not being GOOD enough. Cannot make it, just admit it. Quit making lame excuses!

"I have no dignity left. I'm a table tennis player representing Singapore on the biggest stage of all and they embarrassed me by not providing me with a coach."

You embarrassed yourself but crying like a fucking pussy after losing.

"I cried after the game. It is the only time I've cried over table tennis."

LOSER. Just admit that you're devastated because you won't be getting any monetary bonus. You're already getting over S$2000 a month just to play with balls. Stop complaining!

He said: "In Beijing, I shared a room with (teammate) Cai Xiaoli and another coach."

Excuse me, any of them sodomized you? No right? So shut the hell up.

"I have a contract as a player. When I signed in 2004, I was not told that I would be a sparring partner for the women."

Hey, everything in life, there's always a sacrificial goat. You're IT! Morever, being such a pussy that you are, you fit right in with the women's team. Since being in the team for almost FOUR years, you've yet to become a household name. That says a lot, doesn't it?

But Gao has no plans to leave the country or quit the sport. "I'm a Singaporean, why should I leave?" he said.

Oh please... Singa-what? You got serve National Service? You know what is "kepala butoh"? Don't know, right? Then you're not a fucking SINGAPOREAN. You're just a China-turncoat. Leave the jokes to me! You sir, are like a fucking spoilt sulking child who, blame his inabilities on his parents for giving him bad genes. I got one advice for you... GROW A FUCKING PENIS, LAO GU-NIANG!

"Why so glum? I can't get this stain off my jacket!"

Which brings us to another fiasco. Now that they've brought us "national pride" and pocketed the cash bonuses. One intends to go back to China to "further her studies". Another is returning home to "buy property". I'm "SO SURPRISED!"

NOT!

Utter rubbish! Got medal so what? Cost of living is going up. People still suffering. Big fucking hairy deal. National pride doesn't put 3 meals on the table or pay your bloody bills. 'Nuff said!

Speak And Spell...

Screw freedom of speech and stop trying to resurrect the white elephant. Don't waste time trying to be democratic when we're not. Just get it over and done with by building a multi-storey carpark or another shopping mall over it. Or how about a third Intergrated Resort / Casino? Dog race tracks? Go Kart circuit? Or at least permit people to fly kites there. Can? Anything will do... even as dumping ground for dog shit. As long as it's utilized.

The Ideal Thing To Do When It Rains

Do like I do...
... laze around and be a couch potato!

What to do on a raining day?

Wet pussy

Wot? Me Work? Hell No!

Of all the junk emails I get each day, I came across this. I laughed so hard that I choked on my fried rice. OK, I guess I'm bored. I better go consult...

My secret handbook for almost half my life. Where to buy? I'm not saying. Want to borrow? Take a queue number. Want a glance? Not a chance in hell. I'm adding a new chapter to it... "How to accumulate cash without being a slave to the system".

I went out for a nice little dinner last night. I don't really fancy Long John Silver's but because I had the best possible company ever... the food just tasted really good. We had a little of time to do some window shopping. Adidas was have a 30% storewide sale. I saw some swanky trainers but I couldn't decide if I should be them... so I concluded...

And that reminds me that I need to head over to Muji really soon for my occasional therapy. Unquestionable, it's my all-time favourite chain to shop in. Don't know why but I guess I'm drawn to it's simplicity and Zen-like products. And don't get me started with their snacks. *slurp*

I miss Bunz...

Vinyl? Yawnage!

I was asked by a reporter what I felt about vinyl (records). It was supposed to be for a newspaper article or something like that. Like I care, to be honest. So what do I think? In this day and age of digital audio manipulation capabilities? Those records make great ash-trays!

Fuck the artwork, the supposedly better sound quality and the "feel" of music in it's "purest" format. I need some place to flick my ashes...

To all the purist DJs... you can't fucking re-edit a vinyl can you? The format's a creative retardation, if you think about it. And it takes up unnecessary space and collects way too much dust... I prefer cassette tape. HAHAHAHAHA!

The sofa is mine (for the weekend!)

Going to be an absolute couch potato this weekend. Technically, not MY COUCH. Yes, yes I know, I need to work towards having my own goddamn place (again)! Then again, my Dad's health is not improving much and he's due for another heart procedure this coming Wednesday. I've got to be around to make sure things are manageable. Thus that's one of the reasons I don't wish to work in a job that takes up a hell lot of my time. I've got elderly parents to take care of. No point spending half my time working and not being able to around them when they need me most. So screw WORKING HARD! Here's to WORKING SMART!

Anyways, this weekend's agenda is to watch the entire (and only) season of Kipnapped. Thank God for DVD rentals, I've gone through Battlestar Galactica, Invasion and Jericho in the past recent weeks. Maybe I should head for all nine seasons of X-Files after this. Too bad I can't get my hands on Family Guy, Flight Of The Conchords and Futurama.

Cheerios. Don't bug me about going out to club. I've got my weekend sorted. In a sad (solitude) way, actually. Hahahaha!

Speaking of sad, EUROPE is currently playing at the neighbourhood stadium, belting out with much gusto... their cheesy pussy rock hits like "Carrie" and "The Final Countdown". Ooops, it's a "traditional" Malay wedding. Damn! The band sounds really like the real thing... weak and sad. Every time I hear the opening riffs of "The Final Countdown", it reminds me of the equally lame-ass first course presentation at hotel ballrooms during company Dinner & Dances. Come to think of it, not a very appropriate song to play at a wedding, is it? And I thought I was cynical. Those sound-alike bastards! Kudos to them for keeping void-deck Rock alive and for dedicating "You Give Love A Bad Name" to the newly weds. Jeez, what were they thinking?

Rock never dies... it just got really bad!

p/s nice tune streaming on the site, eh? One for the "sundowners"!

Friday, August 22, 2008

Hey boss, I quit... AGAIN!

A relative of mine asked today, "why you keep quitting from jobs?"

My answer?

"Because I believe in working SMART and not working HARD."

If I have to sweat or suffer for my income, fuck it! Sure we all need jobs. Sure we all have bills to pay. But if the job takes up too much time and leaves me with nothing much for my personal life, fuck it! That's been the story of my life thus far. And I'm not one that holds on to pointless sentiments like "loyalty" as well. If an employer wants that, hire a dog instead.

So what am I doing now? Lets just say I'll be the one you seek with regards to gaming investments when the IRs are up. You'll be surprise how many fool-proof strategies there are in making a small kill.

Have a great weekend, people!

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Are you ready to Trance Around The World with Above & Beyond at this year's ZoukOut? Mark your calenders, 13 December 2008. Despite all the "fashionably-in-rage" nu rave hoo-hahs, cool genres, "upmarket dance music" and the not-yet-dead-R&B-crap, this marks yet another year that Trance is headlining ZoukOut. 'Nuff said.

"We are the champions of the world..."

Wahooooooooo!

From my email...

Dear Yukun,

We've been informed by one of our staff from the consumer product division that you're seeking to replace your current DJ monitoring headphones. We would like to offer you a complimentary pair; make and model to be decided by you. Please acknowledge this email and we'll make the necessary arrangements for you to pick it from our distribution office.

Best Regards

And just for that, here's a banner plug FREE OF CHARGE.

"Sennheiser boleh!"

What? No Sound? Shit...

Current pair of headphones doesn't seem to be travel-friendly whatsoever. It finally went wonkers after being entrusted to me about a year-plus ago. Time to scout of a new pair this weekend before disaster strikes again (got studio work to do, you see). Sennheiser, perhaps? The 2-year warranty should come in handy.

Over the weekend...

Many thanks to all the familiar faces that we've not seen for quite a while as while as the other curious onlookers that came and shared their Saturday with us at Cafe Del Mar... lazing, excessive boozing, snacking, pool waddling, drunkard debaucheries, sand shuffling and listening to sun-drenched balearic trance tunes. It was an unusual setting as compared to the club situation that many might be familiar with.

Nonetheless, what was more apt than the closing tune of our cheeky bootleg mix of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida"?

"I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word"

China vs China turncoats...

To quote Yahoo! Sports : What they saw, in fact, was a China versus China affair. Singapore's three women and their coach were all born and trained in China, recruited to the city-state for their paddling skills.

"Take that, you traitor of China!"

"Ooops! There goes our S$1 million reward!"

"Can we have our 2nd place money now?"

For those ignorant Singaporeans who still don't get it, the team will receive a bonus of about $500,000. Had they won the gold, it would have been about $1 million. Thus I ask, what pride is there in all honesty? It's just mercenaries at work.

Sunday, August 17, 2008

So who will win in the China vs China final?

China lah! Use your brain. Would China export out it's best players? Hell no. It's the ones that don't make the cut that get ADOPTED by cock countries like Singapore. Got bookie want to take my wager? I bet China wins 3 nil, mini-dramas aside. China's a superpower by all standards and measures. They're not known to falter much; where as Singapore (China-branch) has gotten used to coming in short for almost an eternity. So it took 48 years to win another freaking medal. How long before we win the gold? Mathematically... 96 years more... and probably by some foreign import because we (locals) are simply crap when it comes to sports.

Yawn! I'm going to bed earlier instead. Don't waste my time with such "pseudo-national bonding" crap! Much like the earlier National Day Hog-Wash Rally.

Yours cynically (as usual).
