Progressions | Sied van Riel (pix and vidz)

Oh what a night it was... :)

Respects to St. James for getting every aspect about the Progressions brand right. It was certainly not just a regular club night, was it? There was sight, there was sound, and most importantly, there was madness! I think the last time we witnessed anything of this magnitude was when it was held at the defunct Ministry Of Sound (Singapore) for the first time. And personally for me, this one outdid it! I take my hats off to Craig and Ibrahim for their excellent technical support. The confetti cannons and balloon-drop were spot-on. The lasers simply blew everyone away. The sound, OH MY F**KING GOD, was tight and F**KING brilliant! Most definitely the best DJ booth ever... although it could do with a bit of elevation :p

Most people were initially adamant about the venue. Some even questioned our decision. We took it on as a challenge. To bring our brand to a venue that's hardly known for non-mainstream music, is a huge "gamble". But if you really look beyond what it is, the club actually has one of the most professional set-up I've seen thus far in Singapore. The layout also has an "underground" vibe to it. And by far, it has the best open-space smoking area... where you can still FEEL the music from inside. For those that decided to go against the grain and came to show us their valued support, it took them just a short time to get accustomed and comfortable with the setting. By 12.30am, the whole club was up-for-it. Notably, Dash Berlin's "Man On The Run" sent a tsunami across the dancefloor.

I think the photos and videos speak for themselves. It's unquestionably one of the best gig I've played in this year, even though we were not the main headliners. And it's most definitely heartwarming to see some "veteran" regular faces that we've not seen for ages. Nights like these that will go down in local clubbing history, with people constantly using as a referral. So did we UP the benchmark for the brand? I personally think so... with many thanks to Andrew Ing for his support and belief in our vision.

So did P@t and myself really steal the show away from Sied van Riel with our closing set? I think everything contributed to the final outcome of everyone asking for "one more" at the end of the night. It's a success because all the elements fell into place, those involved did their parts and together, we have once again creating a little history we can call our own. It was truly a vibe that will last me for months!

Thank you very much, everyone... for the full house status (and yet it was comfortably cold) and another huge vote of confidence. It was really surreal :)
