It was a lovely day...
Today was indeed a day that I so badly needed... to get out of the house after almost a month of being a "home nurse", and to have some quality time. The best thing is that we need not do anything fanciful or expensive to have a memorable time. I guess, sometimes, it's the company you have and the level of communication that's more important above everything else. And that made today a really lovely day... and I know the future holds many more of such days.
I use to hate rain especially when I'm out but for once, I'm actually happy that it rained. It's just too bloody humid here (most of the time). I really don't understand why some people actually like the tropical weather. It sucks, ok?
The next few weeks in December will be gigss upon gigs... can't complain when you're making some decent money... unlike some others who still continue to bitch about being able to "break" into the scene and yadda-yadda-yadda. December is the time of the year when your demand is put to the test. If you're still struggling to score gigs this month, you seriously should just GIVE IT UP. You can be the most upfront and in-the-know character around but that amounts to nothing. It's the fact of the matter.
I was a purist... until I decided to "be water". And that's what I mean when I say I'm not hardworking but I'm able to survive comfortably because I've learnt to adapt, work smart and swerve to wherever the demand is (and I'm not talking about the stupid NU-WAVE flash-in-the-pan). And yes, I'll never EVER get out of bed just to earn $120 from a gig either... not even if you throw in a bottle of vodka or gin tonic.
I'm off to watch some DVD movies and I seriously it rains tomorrow again.
