Of blood spray and assassins...

There's just something about Japanese sword-fighting feudal movies that the rest of Asia has failed to emulate. Beside the unmistakable Zen approach in every aspect possible, no one does cheesy bloodspray and violence as well as they do... not even Quetin Tarantino in Kill Bill. I manage to catch this two-parter called Azumi (2003) and Azumi Two : Death Or Love (2005), which is an adaptation of an award-winner ongoing Manga series from 1994. For more info, read the Wikipedia page.

Sure it has it's unnecessarily slow moving moments... but this is more than just about slaying, slicing and dicing. There's politics, there's morality, and there are characters in it that you'll either be rooting for or be hoping that he/she dies horribly. Not to mention that the heroine is one bad ass! Here's one (or two) movie that the Women's Lib will surely approve wholeheartedly.

I've always been a big fan of the Japanese Anime, Manga and movie culture (Cosplay on the other hand is downright retarded). There's just something exceptionally intriguing about it that draws countless generations of people towards it. Even their horror movies, simply as they may be... works effectively to scare you for a very long time.

I doubt you can get this movie here due to obvious reasons of violence and several glorious hints of gore. However, if you have a RAPIDSHARE account, you can grab the first movie HERE and the sequel HERE. Subtitles included and works best with the free VLC player on both the PC (pathetic crap) and MAC OS. It's not that I'm advocating intellectual property theft but how can one be stealing when it's not even permitting to be sold here? The authorities are to blame for causing this circumstance that forces us consumers to seek other ways and means. Those in favour, say "AYE" as you read this.

Of course, personal mates who are fans as well... you know the score. Just ask. And if anyone of you happen to have landed these DVDs... I WANT TO BORROW!!! In the meantime, more net scouting for more cult movies!

Clubbing? Count me out. Got better things to do with my time!
