Weekend recap...

Well, there was sexy house, filthy electro and some really pumpy house tunes... which brings me to this question that was thrown at me like 7 - 8 times last night.

"WHY YOU AND P@T PLAYING HOUSE AND LOUNGE STUFF NOW? IT'S NOT YOU! PLEASE PLAY YOUR USUAL SOUNDS!"

Well, all I can say is that we're really tired of the usual music that we are "known for". As a matter of fact, don't even ask me about the latest trance releases because I've not bothered to keep track or update myself for the past TWO months or so. For the uninitiated... in the Asian market, a DJ that is adaptable and versatile carries a better demand as opposed to a DJ that can only play one direction / style. At some point in life, you just want to stop spearheading and daydreaming. And to be honest, I've had enough of "fighting the cause" for so many years. Passion can only bring you that far but passion will never pay your bills. Coming to terms with current market trends is now our upmost objective. Both of us are re-discovering the joys of venturing into other forms of music styles, without which, we seriously would have considered quitting as DJs. At one point, we got so sick of people requesting for "Traffic", "As The Rush Comes", "Satellite" and all individuals that treat DJs like souless jukeboxes. But now, we're actually enjoying the craft again, getting into "new" music, to be on the decks and playing things that we're not pigeon-holed for. At the end of the day, we've always preached about open-mindedness within the scene... and that should go to music stylings too.
