Sleeping dogs don't lie

Hardly slept much the night before and it's been a long day thus far. Went for a meeting in the office right after lunch and then off to the club for a HSBC corporate networking event. The Red Bull and whatever isotonic drinks I consumed hardly worked at all. After this Saturday's usual mad party at the club, I hope to get ample sleep on Sunday without any disruption. Hope the bloody army does not mobilize this weekend. If I don't get a good rest, I'll be a zombie by Monday... and that's not good as I have to be at the Asian Civilization Museum for an event followed by a "private birthday bash" back at the club.

Advance birthday wishes to Esther Zhu of BAT!

Work's fine. Slowly getting into the groove of things. Slowly getting use to the hours. Just need some proper sleep. At the moment, no matter what music I listen to, I only hear a humming buzz. Hopefully, I can do a short retreat next weekend...

*fingers & toes crossed*

Stay tune for details of Progressions on the eve of Labour Day. Currently in negotiation stage.

2 more hours to go before I can sink my head into my pillow. Currently digging into my Jazz CDs as well as some easy-listening audiophile vocal stuff for some music re-programming for Sundays @ eM By The River. Found something that has always been a treasured possession of mine and she's the perfect lullaby later...

CORRINNE MAY

"When will you be home?" she asks
As we watch the planes take off
We both know we have no clear answer to where my dreams may lead
She's watched me as i crawled and stumbled
As a child, she was my world
And now to let me go, I know she bleeds
and yet she says to me

You can fly so high
Keep your gaze upon the sky
I'll be praying every step along the way
Even though it breaks my heart to know we'll be so far apart
I love you too much to make you stay
Baby fly away

Autumn leaves fell into spring time and
SIlver-painted hair
Daddy called one evening saying
"We need you. Please come back"
When I saw her laying in her bed
Fragile as a child
Pale just like an angel taking flight
I held her as I cried

You can fly so high
Keep your gaze upon the sky
I'll be prayin every step along the way
Even though it breaks my heart to know we'll be so far apart
I love you too much to make you stay
Baby fly away
ohh...
I love you too much to make you stay
Baby fly away

"... someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection
the lovers, the dreamers and me..."
